Different Forms

Unlike Den-O who uses a Contactless Smart Card system to henshin, Zeronos uses a more traditional ticketing card system. Zeronos henshins into different forms by physically inserting different cards into the slot on the Rider Belt.

Each Zeronos card can only be used once, it evaporates every time Sakurai Yuuto cancels the transformation. The cards are made out of people's memories of Sakurai Yuuto. Every time Sakurai Yuuto henshins, people who once knew him will forget about him, meaning he is slowly erasing himself from the timeline. There are two sets of cards: the cards that have the green Altair Form symbol on one side and the yellow Vega Form symbol on the other, and the red Zero Form symbol cards. The green and yellow cards are made from the memories of the elder Sakurai. The reds cards are from the memories of the younger Yuuto, the memories he created after he boarded ZeroLiner and created a separate timeline from his older self.

All forms has the ZeroGasher hoisted on the belt. It is a two-pieces equipment that can be combined into the Sabre Mode or the Bowgun Mode.

最初に言っておく。 俺はかーなーり強い!

In Vega Form, Deneb also starts with "Let me say this to start", but ends with different variations. Including:

  • Let me say this to start. The face on my chest is a decoration!
最初に言っておく。 胸の顔は飾りだ!
  • Let me say this to start. I have nothing to say!
最初に言っておく。 特に言うことはない!

In the final episode, Deneb says the following, knowing that he will disappear after the fight:

  • Let me say this in the end, take care of Yuuto!
最後に言っておく、侑斗をよろしく!

ZeroLiner

ZeroLiner is a steam locomotive that travels through time. Unlike DenLiner, ZeroLiner does not have a time constraint when accessing from the real world. ZeroLiner is mainly green, black and yellow in color and is made up of two cars. It is shown that the train contains a small living room and a kitchen. In Imagin Anime episode 16, it is joked about that the train does not have a bath or a toilet.

Owner mentioned that ZeroLiner should have been destroyed along with the destroyed future. In reality, ZeroLiner escaped and returned to the present timeline, choosing Sakurai as a warrior to protect the future from the Imagins. With his plan to use himself as bait to lure the Imagins, Sakurai passes ZeroLiner and the Zeronos Belt to his younger self Yuuto to continue the fight with the Imagins. Sakurai can still control and enter the ZeroLiner when needed.

Drill

Drill (ドリル Doriru) is Altair Form's train and is the main train car of ZeroLiner. It has a bull's head, mainly green and black, and has the green Altair Form's symbol on the sides. The bull's horns can be used as weapons in battles. When the bull's head is flipped around, a large yellow drill is revealed. The drill allows ZeroLiner to travel underground or can be used as a finisher when fighting out-of-control Imagins.

Naginata

Naginata (ナギナタ Naginata) is Vega Form's train the second train car of ZeroLiner. It has a hawk's head, mainly yellow and black, and has yellow Vega Form's symbol on the sides. It can temporary swap with the Drill to become the first train car. It can release a pair of helicopter rotor blades on the top, giving ZeroLiner the ability to fly. The rotor blades are also weapons, able to slice and cut the out-of-control Imgains monsters into pieces.

ZeroHorn

ZeroHorn is a motorcycle and the main control of ZeroLiner. It looks similar to DenLiner's DenBird except with the added bull's horns on the top. Like the DenBird, it has a slot for a train pass although Zeronos does not use a Rider Pass. A Zeronos Card is inserted into the slot instead when Zeronos needs to pilot ZeroLiner.

Motif

Zeronos' designs are based on the Japanese Tanabata Festival, which origiated from the Chinese Qi Xi festival and the folklore story, "The Princess and the Cowherd". It tells of the story of two deities, Niulang (Chinese: 牛郎, the cowherd) and Zhinü (Chinese: 织女, the weaver girl). They were lovers that were separated by the the galactic river, and were allowed to meet only once a year on the seventh day of the seventh month on the magpie bridge over river.

The story is inspired by the stars Altair, Vega and Deneb of The Summer Triangle, the the brightest stars in the three constellations of Aquila, Cygnus, and Lyra. The star Altair is located in the west of the Milky Way, while the Star Vega is located in the east. The Milky Way separates the two stars. Deneb marks the location of the bridge across the Milky Way that is formed on the seventh day of the seventh month.

Zeronos Altair Form's design is based on a bull (a cowherd), Vega Form's visor is a spool of thread (a weaver) and the Deneb Imagin's bird motif is based on a magpie. Other than being the namesake of Zeronos' different forms and his Imagin, the story also represents the Form changes, with the link between changing from Altair Form to Vega Form being the Deneb Imagin.

The story reflects the circumstances of Sakurai and his fiancee Nogami Airi, where they are in love but are not allow to meet.
