- Hellclite is probably named after Heraclitus, the weeping philosopher. Who is said to have had influence on Isaac Newton's alchemy. "The central ideas of Heraclitus's philosophy are the unity of opposites and the concept of change. He also saw harmony and justice in strife... Heraclitus believed fire was the arche, the fundamental stuff of the world." The fire aspect fits into the Spanner's black flame theming.
- Lakhinereis is probably a combination of Lakhisis and Nereis/Nereids, sea nymphs from Greek myth.
