- Mana
- Mana is bothered by Houjou's theory on her father being murdered by a killer with supernatural powers. She tries to surrender herself to the police and calls herself as the culprit who killed her own father since she was the closest person to Kazaya, as well as having her own powers. Hikawa turns her down and convinces her not to jump to conclusion yet because Houjou merely tried to prove his theories on the murder case without proper evidence.
- On the streets, Mana is repeatedly attacked by various objects. She keeps running away from the scenes and then she encounters Sagara who uses his own power to cause her unconscious. Mana wakes up at an apartment; Sagara introduces himself and Masumi to her as comrades who also have powers. He describes they meant no harm to her, but currently want to gather more similar people to study the meaning of their powers together. Sagara tests Mana in whether she has someone care for her until Shouichi manages to find his way to the apartment. Mana tells Shouichi that she doesn't understand who she really is; she wants to independently discover the answer before she can go home.
- Sagara and Sawaki discuss why Mana is being part of them although she was not on the Akatsuki-gou ferry. Sawaki elaborates that she is crucial to help them in seeking answers to the mystery despite being an outsider who knows nothing.
- Sagara
- Sagara originally lived happily with a lovely wife; however, he became awkward to her some time after his trip on the Akatsuki-gou ferry. Even though she wanted to help him overcome his fear, Sagara still didn't tell her about what had happened to him. Eventually, she chose to leave him because he couldn't offer anymore happiness to her.
- Sagara tries to take Mana back from Shouichi, but he is attacked by the Crustata Palleo Unknown. In his dying breath, Sagara regrets that he let his wife left him. He envies Mana for having a warm family to care for her; he also apologizes to her for being the one who used his own power to repeatedly attack her tennis seniors and Shouichi.
