- A flashback of Ryou meeting a young boy named Asano Kazuki who is being chased two men. Both take a rest from being pursued, Kazuki tells the truth that he saw an Unknown killed his parents. Since then, he wishes he could go to a faraway place to escape from the reality that he doesn't want to be part of. Ryou persuades him to accept the reality and live on; they're attacked by the Echinus Famelicare Unknown. Kazuki witnesses the battle and realizes how Ryou is willing to live on his life even though the Gills power always makes him painful.
- After the battle, Kazuki accepts the fact that he can't run away anymore; Ryou gives him a ride back to a church where Kazuki properly attends his parents' funeral. The two men who were chasing him are actually his uncles.

- This is the only episode of the series to air in a distinct aspect-ratio formula. Contrary to the other episodes airing in widescreen, this one airs windowboxed for the first 49 seconds, the OP is windowboxed and lastly, aside from some flashbacks, the rest of the episode is shown in 4:3 (which is the ratio for full-screen).
- Kazuki passes by the Misugi house, Shouichi wraps a towel around his own head and says the "Welcome!" greeting word to the boy because he recognizes Kazuki was a regular customer of the Hanamura Bakery where he previously worked until the shop was closed down by the landlord.
