The episode title is a reference to Star Wars, because Episode 7 comes out the same week. The first part of the title is a reference to Star Wars. The second part is a reference to Empire Strikes Back.
When Shutendouji dies, he says he wishes he could have had a victory drink. It's because in the previous episode, his main gimmick was drinking and using a fighting style similar to the Drunken Fist.
When Mangetsu uses his mother for a shield, she says she should punish him in some way. This may be a reference to her voice actress being Sailor Moon's, who's catchphrase is "I'll punish you in the name of the Moon."

During the ending theme, there's a guess the number of colored fireworks there are. The colors match the colors on the remote for TV's in Japan.
