Trivia

  • Ninnin Girls and their animated forms are designed after Toei's animated girl series Precure. Original picture by Kagawa Hisashi, character design and direction by Komatsu Kozue, both contributors to the Precure series. Animation by Toei Animation.
  • Midoninger is a portmanteau of Midori (Green) and Ninger. Unlike the other Ninningers, the "ri" part is consumed by the "ni" in ninger, so the first word is cut off.
  • Kokonoe Luna's name is a reference to Izayoi Kyuuemon. Both of them contain the word "nine" (like nine-tails) and references the moon in them.
  • An early hint of Luna's true identity is that she says "boku" to refer to herself, which is normally reserved for males (though some females rarely use it). Kyuuemon also used "boku".
  • Apparently Luna's uniform is a modified version of the uniform human Kyuuemon wore, a black gi with green trimmings.
  • Apparently Luna's first pose when she's introduced is similar to Cure Princess's pose from Happiness Charge Precure!.
  • The announcer in the Ninnin Girls VS Ninnin Boys match is the same as the voice for the Nin Shurikens and other tools.
  • One of the monsters tries to make Takaharu slip on a banana peel. The banana peel is a recurring joke for the Igasaki siblings. Both of them have fallen on one in the series and movies.
  • It's hinted that Takaharu gets his catchphrases "I'm on fire" and "That's hot" from his mother. She uses them several times in this movie.
  • Mitsuishi Kotono appears live in this movie. When the Ninnin Girls rescue her, she says "She'll punish them", which is similar to her catchphrase as Sailor Moon, who she also voices.
  • Some of the terms are inconsistent in interesting ways. Kinji refers to NinninGreen as Midoninger, despite her never calling herself that. And Ariake uses the phrase "Kibaoni Family" even though that term was never said in the main series. It was usually the Kibaoni Army or Kibaoni Clan.
