Name is based off the holiday Tanabata which occurs on July 7th, the episode air day.
His power is granting people's wishes, since people write their wishes on cards and hang them from trees on this day.
Secret move: Bamboo Leaf Finisher! (笹の葉殺法。) - Not really an attack, he just uses it to dodge. Luckyuro calls him on this fact.
Bamboo Spear Slash 竹槍スラッシュ
Spends the episode saying sara (sasa is bamboo grass) and take (bamboo) since wishes are hung on a bamboo tree.
When he's revived as a giant, he shouts out "Bamboo" in English.
