Shinji learns about Mirror World, Mirror Monsters, and the mysterious Kanzaki Shirou from Yui.
Reiko berates Shinji for being a coward who doesn't want to risk his life to find answers when he suggests her to stop investigating the missing cases.
Shinji eventually accepts his experience in the Mirror World because his Editor-in-Chief encourages him that risking life to find answers is Reiko's philosophy in being a journalist.
Dispider returns from its defeated.

Yui's tea shop is called Tea Atori (花鶏) which is Japanese for "brambling", a type of bird. There's a picture of the bird on the sign.
In the bill, there's a charge of 12,800 yen for two aluminum sash windows and a 8000 yen bill for psychological trauma.
Shinji finds Kanzaki Shirou's name as Takami Shirou on the missing list.
Knight gives Shinji the name Ryuki.
The translation for the episode title is similar to the The Empire Strikes Back from the Star Wars movies.
