- When Houtarou mentions his mother went to a yo-yo club event from high school, a yo-yo sound effect is played. This is a reference to the actress's previous work in the TV series Sukeban Deka 2, where she wielded a yo-yo as a weapon.
- The kanji for Kurogane in Kurogane Spanner is interesting. Normally, "kurogane" means "iron" and uses these kanji 黒鉄/黒金, it literally means "black iron/metal". However, for his name it uses 黒鋼, which means "black steel".
