Trivia

• There was a Rigani in episode 2 as well, so the basic body of the monsters are reused.
• The monster of the week's phrase "On your heart, target lock" is from DekaRanger. Both series are worked on by the same writer.
• The game grandfather gets, Giallo Man, is based on an Italian word for mystery fiction. But "giallo" is the Italian word for "yellow".
• The music that plays when the giant monster appears is a parody of retro arcade music. When Kirameijin pops out from under the overhang, the sound effect is similar to Mario coming out of a pipe.
• Shovellow sneezes at the end, based on the Japanese superstition that you sneeze when someone is talking about you.
• Episode title "Let Shovellow Have His Way!" (Shoberō Makaritōru! ショベローまかりとおる！) is based on a manga called "Kotaro Breaks Through!" (Kōtarō Makaritōru コータローまかりとおる！). [1]
