Trivia
- Asura is Indian for "fighting gods"
- This special is a joint project between Garo and New Japan Pro-Wrestling, as part of the 10th anniversary of Garo. Gouki (Tanahashi Hiroshi) and Zarugin (Makabe Togi) are both professional wrestlers.
- Both Wada Sanshiro and Nakashima Kouya are credited with portraying Garo in this episode. Just a week ago in Garo -Makai Retsuden- 12 they were portraying rivals in the roles of Garo and Zaji respectively.
- In the credits, Kaoru's family name is written as "Saejima", meaning she finally married Kouga by the time Raiga was born. This is the first time in the Garo series that acknowledges her name change.
- Kaoru mentions to Raiga that his father also had golden wings just like Gouki at one point. This is a reference to the last episode of the original series, in which Garo gains golden wings thanks to Kaoru's painting, which he uses in his fight against Messiah.
