Important things that happened

Ryou and other Akatsuki-gou members
  • Sagara returns to the apartment, only to realize that Masumi nearly kills Ryou. He manages to save Ryou's life and warns Masumi not to act on her own again. Sagara goes out to test his newly obtained power, but gets hunted by the Corvus Ruscus Unknown; he uses his power as attacks to cover his escape.
  • Masumi receives an anonymous phone call from the rumored Kino who orders the killing of Ryou. Ryou sees Masumi attacking him with a flower vase; he pushes her aside to escape immediately. Sagara uses his own power to attack Ryou in retaliation. At the river of an under bridge, Sagara's power kills Ryou through strangling him while his face is in the water.
The truth about Yukina
  • Shouichi finally gets to meet Sawaki Tetsuya. Sawaki tells the truth about what really had happened to Yukina. Despite being Yukina's little brother, perhaps Shouichi doesn't fully understand about his sister as with the case of her having supernatural powers.
  • Sawaki and a professor conducted experiments on Yukina's power. The more he worked with Yukina together, the more closely they got together, eventually they fell in love. However, the happiness didn't last long because Yukina started to lose control of her powers; she became delusion and then she committed suicide.
Shouichi
  • Before meeting with Sawaki Tetsuya for a second attempt, Shouichi goes home and tells Mana that he partially recovers his memories. He remembers he boarded on a ferry to find Sawaki in order to learn the real reason why Yukina committed suicide. However, Shouichi cannot remember what had happened on the ferry.
  • After defeating the Corvus Unknowns as Agito, Shouichi suddenly loses all his memories; he goes home and forgets his promise to Mana, to make her an obentou.

Trivia

  • Sawaki mentions to Shouichi that he and a professor whom he respected were conducting experiments on Yukina's power. The professor is presumably Mana's father, Kazaya Nobuyuki. During the experiment, Yukina uses her power to turn a tennis ball into inside out; this is the inside-out tennis ball which was found in the wall of the Kazaya house on episode 13.
  • When Sagara uses his power to attack Ryou, all his attacks are the same trick as Aki attacking the Agito Capture Operation members on episode 20 such as using power to throw objects at Ryou or using the welded wire mesh fence to wrap around Ryou.
  • While being attacked by Sagara, Ryou briefly transforms into Gills. The transformation ends quickly, leaving only the left arm remains as Gills; Ryou uses the arm to block Sagara's attack.
  • Doesn't say the "Awaken the soul!" catchphrase in the previews like in other episodes. This is because 28 is a special episode that's the only episode no written by Inoue Toshihiko, instead being written by Kobayashi Yasuko.
