- We find out that Norio's full name is Orino Norio (which is a palindrome in Japanese). Orino is a pun on "cage" and maybe oriru "to get off a vehicle".
- The Owan Gurumaa is all jokes on the word wan, which usually means "bowl". But it's also a homonym for "arm" or "one". The number for this monster is 0 1 0 1 which is something it randomly says. Wan even shows up in the episode title, replacing the first part of Once.
