Trivia
- Libra Zodiarts's motif, a zen monk, is exemplified with actual monks appearing in this episode. In fact, Gentarou first detects Libra in Kyoto because of the sound of the rings clashing on his staff, very much like the sound of zen monk's staffs.
- Yuuki carries around a stuffed Hayabusa-kun toy referring to her obsession with that satellite.
- Oosugi makes a joke about there being no infirmaries in Kyoto when Utahoshi goes off on his own in Kyoto. Referring to Kengo's frequent visits to the infirmary.
- We learn a little more about how pathetic Oosugi was as a kid. This time he says he was always in a group of one for middle and high school. He calls himself Lonely Oosugi in English.
- Miu sneezes when Yuuki bad mouths her, because that's the superstition explanation for sneezes in Japan.
- Yuuki's song about Kyoto sounds an awful lot like her Hayabusa-kun song.
- When Ryuusei gets between Yukina and Gentarou with a fan, the fan has "Loyalty" written on it.
- Four appears especially a lot in this episode. It's mentioned that Kyoto has four sides. Four points are shown in Japan that probably correspond to Fourze's appendage marks. In ancient times there were Four Divine Beasts who ruled over the four directions of the sky.
- The plaque that they write wishes on is shaped like a kitsune fox, which is a sacred animal to that particular shrine. The plaque in Japanese is called an ema 絵馬 which literally translates into "a picture horse" since originally one was to draw a horse and offer it to the gods.
- In Oosugi's haiku, his last line is "suspender", which is three syllables. This actually is okay in Japanese haiku formatting because they count syllables differently: サスペンダー. I guess they don't count the dash since it just makes the vowel long.
- The four power points are named after the four Gods of the Chinese constellations. Suzaku, Seiryuu, Byakko, and Genbu. The four divine animals are referenced commonly in anime and toku.
- They mention Shijinsouou 四神相応, a phrase that literally means "Most suitable for the four gods". In this case, they are referring to the geography of Kyoto. It's a square shaped area with a different structure on each side, presumably matching the elements of the four animal gods. This sort of stuff is also referenced in Onmyou Taisenki, an anime that #TV-Nihon did.
