Utahoshi Kengo

From TV-Nihon

歌星賢吾

Part of the Kamen Rider Club on Kamen Rider Fourze.

Played by: Takahashi Ryuki

Personality

Kengo is rather serious and smart. He can be a bit cocky and arrogant. He throws around a lot of English words, which confuses Gentarou.

He inherited a lot of his father's traits and possesses great tactical knowledge which helps Fourze with Switch use during his battles. He's the one who has been adjusting the Switches so that they are functional.

He is rather possessive of his father's creations, which got him into fights with other people who wanted to help. Even though he didn't know his father at all, Kengo feels like he knows him though his research. He said this to Emoto, who told him that his father was the same way. Even he doesn't like most of the antics of the Kamen Rider Club, he does enjoy acting out parts when they are trying to help out someone. He even plays the drums.

Kengo's friendship with Gentarou is a rather strong one. This is demonstrated on a couple of occasions like when Scorpion poisoned Gentarou and was willing to use a special glove attachment with the Medical Switch save Gentarou even though it would weaken him even more with his poor health. He realized that even if he was in good health that he would not be the perfect Fourze as Gentarou show him that Gentarou was the perfect candidate with his ability to bond with others.

Quotes

History

Utahoshi Kengo is a student at Ama High. His father, Utahoshi Rokurou, died on the moon alone when he was a baby. He has a childhood friend named Egawa Rumi whom he has known since the first grade.

When he was a first year student at Ama High, he received a mysterious package from on his birthday. The package contained a note and the Gate Switch. He turned on the Gate Switch but he noticed that Joujima Yuuki was about to come in, so he hid the Switch and box into a locker. At the time, he didn't realize that the Switch would create a gateway to the Rabbit Hutch which Yuuki saw the creation of it pouring out of the locker. They discovered the Rabbit Hutch and read the last notes of Kengo's father. It said that the Zodiarts will soon appear to cause evil and that the power of Fourze is needed.

During the one year of discovering the Rabbit Hutch and his first encounter with Gentarou, Kengo was preparing to fight the Zodiarts with finishing the Fourze Driver, Powerdizer, and the Foodroids from Yuuki's designs. There was a problem though, Kengo himself did not have the constitution for battle as seeing him struggling with controlling Powerdizer. Most likely, Kengo would be in great danger if he fought the Zodiarts as Fourze. Luckily, Gentarou discovered the Rabbit Hutch and took it upon himself to be the wielder of the Fourze Driver. Kengo did not like the idea of Gentarou of being Fourze but soon warm up to it along with the idea of the Kamen Rider Club. He finally accepted the Kamen Rider Club when they were trying to stop the Pyris Zodiarts while he was stuck in the Rabbit Hutch due to the locker being moved by Oosugi.

Kengo did not like the idea of Ryuusei adjusting the Switches especially after finding out that Gentarou was the one who told him to do it. Being protective of his father work, he got into an argument with Gentarou and thus screwing up his relationship with him and the ability to use Magnet States properly. With the help of Ryuusei, he realizes that he and Gentarou are like a magnet and managed to patch things up with Gentarou. After Ryuusei kills Gentarou during the fight with Aries, Kengo with the help from Tachibana was able to revive Gentarou with the Cosmic Switch by using his father's words about the bond of others is needed to survive in space. He recently learned that Gamou knew his father and was responsible for his father's death but left out the part that he intentionally left him to die and saying that he should have stopped his research when given the chance.
