- The copy machine guy is played by the actual voice actor for Shishileo.
- The episode features parody brand names like Gamazon for Amazon or Koujy.
- The Mt. Fuji slide is a good foreshadowing that the Jyushouwan movie takes place there, since that's when Damien first tells Nakamura about the movie.
- Nakamura explains that the New Years movie often features past heroes. This is probably a reference to past years when the Sentai Versus would be released around January, which would feature the previous year's Sentai team. This practice has been skipped the past two years though.
- Nakamura likens it to the Red & White Song Festival (Kouhaku Uta Gassen), where the white team (male singers) compete with female singers (red team) at New Years.
- The Jirou restaurant might be a reference to the Jirou the master sushi maker from the documentary Jiro Dreams of Sushi.
