• The episode title, Why? We're High School Students, follows the format of some Denji Sentai MegaRanger episode titles, with a question being followed by a statement.
• The new "Digi Ken" lab retains the Le Grand Bleu (The Big Blue) movie poster originally seen in Denji Sentai MegaRanger. That poster was also seen in Gao Blue's quarters aboard the Gao's Rock in Hyakujuu Sentai Gaoranger.
• After Kanzen Gokai-Ou destroys Woodroid Moririn and Soilroid Dororin, Gokai silver yells, "Gokaiger Win!" - a reference to the "MegaRanger Win" screen that flashes whenever the MegaRanger defeat a Nejire Beast in Denji Sentai MegaRanger.
