Mad Rex Fury is an homage to the movie Mad Mad: Fury Road. Although the writer for the Toei page says that it's a reference to the sequel film Furiosa.[1]. It's a little unclear which film Fury refers to, since in Japanese Fury Road was called Ikari no Death Road, so it's possible the writer wrote the joke referring to the first movie, but the producer wasn't aware of the American name of the movie and assumed it was for the second.
