Background
- On 2008, he married actress Kashii Yuu who played Akino Shiori on Death Note the 2006 live action movie.
- The couple has two sons, the youngest son passed away on April 24, 2015 due to intestinal ileus. Their third child was born on 2016.
Kamen Rider Kuuga
- Odagiri played Godai Yuusuke / Kamen Rider Kuuga. However, he spoke negatively about his overall experience in some interviews, mainly claiming he never wanted to be involved with tokusatsu.
- Throughout filming the Kuuga episodes, Odagiri couldn't tolerate any longer in playing the titular role and had consideration of resigning from being an actor.
- Toei Producer, Takadera Shigenori, managed to convince him that finishing Kuuga is the only way to become a famous actor. Odagiri reluctantly changed his mind and stayed on until Kuuga finally concluded.
