The World (ワールド) enemies are probably technically more like Warudo (ワルド) which combines evil/waru and World. But it's just easier to write World.

Gaoon and his Zenkaiger form are references to GaoRanger and its mecha GaoKing. His phrase "Animals Power" (Hyakyujyu Power) is the same as in Hyakujyu Sentai GaoRanger. His scratching the ground is similar to GaoRed's actions during his rollcall sequence. Although his dreadlocks seem more like Leo's from Jyuohger.
