- The name of the episode is Lion, Run! (獅子、走る Shishi, Kakeru). Shishi Kakeru is also the name of GaoRed. The episode title is also a reference to first episode of Hyakujyu Sentai GaoRanger, Lion, Roar! (獅子、吼える!!).
- In Gaoranger, Kakeru (GaoRed) owns a Golden Retriever called "Choco". In this episode the puppy in the clinic is a golden retriever, and there are posters of golden retrievers on the wall.

- The name of the Action Commander, Bowser is very similar to the King Koopa, Bowser of Super Mario franchise.
