- Is the first time Shining Form appears outside the movie. The plot of this story hints that this is the first time Shouichi obtains Shining Form in the chronology, since the G4 Project is supposed to happen months after this special occurs, despite the movie coming out first.

Trivia
- Kyomoto Masaki was Ryuuzaki on Garo, a guest on Kamen Rider Black, as well as Hayate Shin on Ultraman. He also sends the ending songs for the first Garo series.
- The narrator in the special says this is a story about three Kamen Riders. But he doesn't say Kamen Rider in front of G3-X and says "he's a man trying to become a Kamen Rider".
- In Burning Form, Shouichi loses control and starts to attack Kunieda.
- When Ryou saves Shouichi from Houjou, he recognizes Houjou from the Agito Capture Project and punches him in the face. Houjou doesn't recognize Gills in his human form.
- The special aired after the movie, but chronologically takes place before the movie. Since the G4 Project plans are teased at the end of this special.
- Chronologically, this special takes place between episode 34 and whenever Shouichi first has Shining Form in the TV series.
