Series Synopsis
Kamen Rider Kuuga is a 1978 Tokusatsu film starring Yusuke Godai (portrayed by Joe Odagiri). The plot of the film focuses on a team of Kamen Riders attempting to earn enough money to send the titular character to Dallas, Texas, to try out for the famous “Akibara Cum-Dumpsters” cheerleading squad. The fictional name "Akibara Cum-Dumpsters" was seen as a take on the real-life Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders. Odagiri had previously tried out for the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders in real life, but was cut during auditions for being a faggot of poor taste. The film was highly successful,[citation needed] is regarded as one of the most important releases during the so-called "Golden Age of Tokusatsu", and remains one of the best-known Toku films.
