Trivia
- Matsumoto Rica plays Satou Shiho. The name comes from Satoshi, the character she voices for the Pokémon anime, and hou/catch. Her dog Manru was also there.
- The soccer collaborators played side characters in King-Ohger. The president was played by Yoshimitsu Hiroto, who played Himeno's aide Sebastian. The deputy president was played by [[Fukuzawa Jyubun], who played Racles' aide, Boshimaru.
- Tire shop Carport Maruzen was a show sponsor. The two brothers who pushed the tires out were the actual owners and they rolled the tires out the way they did in the CMs.
- So this episode was just a massive mess of soccer references. I can only identify a few from the Captain Tsubasa's manga/anime:
- When Decotorade kicked off after Genba and Sakito returned, he said "The ball is my friend!" (ボールはマブダチ), which is a different way of saying Tsubasa's catchphrase and motto (ボールはともだち).
- Genba and Sakito dribble the ball while running on all fours. It could be a reference to Tachibana brothers' dribbling technique "Yamazaru Keep". Here's a clip https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Jg_czflFq8
- The perfect passes between Genba and Sakito and the Twin Overhead Cam Drive, could be a reference to the Golden Combi of Tsubasa and Misaki and their Twin Overhead Shoot. Here's a clip of the overhead shoot https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S7g14wkpOO0
- The poses Boondario and ByunDi struck were reference to the movie "Shaolin Soccer".
- Pulse Ace is a reference to the Shimizu S-Pulse
- The Hashiriyan's goalkeper was Super Great Gym Gurumaa (SGGG). There was suggestions of changing "Gurumaa" to "Kurumaa" and naming it Super Great Gym Kurumaa (SGGK) as a reference to the title "Super Great Goalkeeper" from Captain Tsubasa. However, we thought it would be best to stick to Boonboomger's naming conventions, so we went with Gym Gurumaa.[1]
