Personality

A man of few words. Joe's specialty is two-handed sword techniques.

According to writer Arakawa Naruhisa, Joe's personality is based on the director of the Chunichi Dragons, Takagi Morimichi. Also, his name was originally going to be Ken Gibujo, which is based on the name of Takagi's alma mata, Ken Gifushou. 岐阜県立岐阜商業高等学校（県岐阜商=ケン・ギフショウ）

History

Joe Gibken is a swordsman and a former soldier of the Space Empire Zangyack. He was trained by his sempai Sid Bamick after his failure in training as a soldier. He was impressed after seeing the swordsman technique of his sempai. After he declined to his first job, to cut their childrens, the Space Empire Zangyack engaged to slay him down, also puts an emitter on his neck to track him down. After his betrayal, Joe and his sempai fled from Zangyack, seperated, but his sempai doesn't make it, which leads to the remodel of Barizorg. The Zangyack continues to fight the traitor until Captain Marvelous shows up. After he was joined by Captain Marvelous, he become the second member of the crew as GokaiBlue.
