Hidari Shoutarou 左翔太郎 - A half-boiled detective with delusions of being hard-boiled. Becomes the left side of Kamen Rider W. Family name means "left" and his given name comes from the creator of Kamen Rider's name, Ishinomori Shoutarou.

Philip フィリップ - A boy with the Planetary Bookshelves in his mind. Named after Philip Marlowe, the detective protagonist of "The Long Goodbye". Becomes the right side of W.

Note, when it appears on signs in English, the city's name is spelled Futo.
