Important things that happened

• Dr. Z decides to shut down Sutema Otsu so that he can start the Delusion Empire.
• The AkibaRangers get color matching jackets for their civilian forms. Hakase gets a military-looking uniform. Takuma starts calling her Director (長官).
• Akagi realizes that they are in a TV show called Hikounin Sentai AkibaRanger. He catches a moving by telop to prove it. Takuma leaves and everything is restored to just before the Dr. Z storyline started. Malshiina tries to convince Dr. Z to return to normal. He reverts, but immediately changes back.

• Kozukozu cosplays as Tsuruhime from Kakuranger, Momo from OhRanger, and Miu from Go-Onger this week.
• Hakase is dressed as Commander Odagiri from Jetman.
• Akagi realizes that the current story parallels Sun Vulcan.
• The group mention ShinGiTai from GekiRanger. While Retsu was Gi/Technique, Takuma is Shin/Heart. Yumeria is Gi and Mitsuki is Tai/Body. The funny thing is that Akiba's strengths are the weakest attributes for the GekiRangers. So Takuma is heart, which was Jan's weakest, etc. etc.
• The structure of Akibaranger's rollcall is similar to Gekiranger's.
• AkibaRed calls out "Tiger Heart" and an imaginary red tiger attacks, a reference to GekiRed's Hou Hou Dan.
• The spinning finishing attack on Drill Cyclops is similar to Carranger's RV Robo finishing attack. But since the battle is littered with Gekiranger references, it is more likely a reference to GekiTouja's DaiGanGanKen.

Trivia

• Looks like the dubbing for Akagi at the beginning is messed up. His voice faintly appears before he speaks.
• The Shachiiku chant "pension" and "kunshou/medals" this week.
• The group transforming together only seems to do one candle's worth of damage to Hakase.
• New opening narration and the second verse of the song appear. There's also another narration by an official Sentai narrator at the beginning.
• For the first time, Yellow says the name "AkibaYellow" and actually finishes her rollcall.
• In Yellow's rollcall, she mentions the proverb Mouki fuboku 盲亀の浮木 which means "An extremely difficult meeting." The proverb literally is "A blind turtle finding floating wood."
  • The second line uses two four-kanji phrases. Migaku-kaigan and shiden-issen are also four kanji. Using these are a notable characteristic of Ban from DekaRanger
  • The first A ki ba chorus tells the story of someone who got caught as an otaku by having an Aoitan keyholder on their bag. Maybe Mitsuki, since she is the most normal of the bunch and they mention her keyholder before.
  • The second A ki ba chorus describe the three Rangers.
  • The line about being bathed in the morning sun on Sunday is a reference to the time and channel where the official Sentai airs (TV-Asahi on Sunday).
• Takuma's attack, Savage Mice (サージマイス) is a reference to a movie by the director of AkibaRanger, Salvage Mice サルベージ・マイス. It's explained on the Akiba news page: http://www.akibaranger.jp/news/ . Basically the current spelling is more like Surge or Serge, but they say the translation means "wild mice" so they probably mean "Savage".
• Takuma is Shin AkibaRed which means new AkibaRed. But in this episode, he's the heart for ShinGiTai.
