''Heartcatch Precure'' begins with Cure Moonlight fighting off Dark Pretty Cure and losing; which is then revealed to be a recurring dream of Tsubomi's. At school Tsubomi meets Erika, a fashion obsessed and hot blooded girl who instantly takes a liking to her. Erika is a member of the dwindling fashion club and doesn't want it to get disbanded so she pesters Tsubomi to join. After a falling out Erika meets Sasorina, who turns her into a Snackie. Tsubomi happens to see this and after bumping into Chypre & Coffret gains the power to become a Pretty Cure, though a weak one. She manages to save Erika, who soon joins her and becomes a Cure herself.
