As part of the series restarting gimmick, several elements of this are repeated from episode 1 with slight tweaks. Episode 16 is True Savior versus just Savior in episode 1's title. The bank heist happens again with the same thief and store manager. And Hoeru ends up in the same park as when he met his friend in episode 1
The action scene was filmed at the Hachioji Campus, a filming location that has appeared a few times so far in this series.
Kumade Mashiro's name means "bear hands, pure white" (熊手真白). Kumade are also the Japanese word for "rake", some of which are sold as lucky charms at temples.
Beakkuma is a portmanteau of "bear", "devil/akuma", and "bear/kuma" (ベアックマ)
Guudebang comes from fist(guu). His name TegaNaguuru since his theming is punching/melee(naguru), versus TegaSword being blade themed and Tega(Ju)ne being gun themed.
