- The castle interior features the Manor Stairs that was appeared in Toqger 43.
- The entire episode is a tribute to JRPGs like Dragon Quest. All the text are jaggy 8-bit fonts.
- Kotarou is dressed as the hero class, which is the main character in the Dragon Quest series. His gear looks like the gear of Roto, the early protagonist of the Dragon Quest series. Spada is a generic warrior and Lucky is a sexy mage.
- Stinger is a clown, which probably is a reference to the Goof-off/Jester class, a useless class that becomes very powerful in the late game.
- At the end, Anton asks them to join him in a similar way to the Dragonlord tempting the hero at the end of Dragon Quest 1.
- At one point, Lucky has to choose between three dialogue choices. "Awesome" (green), "Alright, lucky!" (red), and "Grazie" (yellow).
