Many Tokusatsu and Anime shows have merchandising produced for them which are often targeted at children and die-hard fans, these are often in the form of Toys.
The toys are made available in many ways, be it traditional toy stores or exclusive promotions with other products (Such as Gashapon).
Demographics
While most toys are made for both children and collectors, there are some exclusive types that are made for collectors only such as the S.H.Figuarts or Figma lines, which produce high quality figurines based on many types of Japanese media, from Kamen Rider to Pretty Cure.
International Availability
Most toys, whether for children or collectors are sold only in Japan, so die-hard international fans have to buy their products from special-order or middle-man sites that charge premiums.
