- On 2008, he married actress Kashii Yuu who played Akino Shiori on Death Note the 2006 live action movie.
- The couple has two sons, the youngest son passed away on April 24, 2015 due to intestinal ileus.
Kamen Rider Kuuga
- Odagiri passed the audition for the role of Godai Yuusuke / Kamen Rider Kuuga. However, he has been negatively expressing his overall experience in playing the titular role. He describes he never wanted to play such role aiming at childrens; he wants to be an actor who can instantly become famous in playing roles that are aiming at adults.
- Throughout filming the Kuuga episodes, Odagiri considered about resigning from being an actor because he couldn't tolerate any longer in playing Godai / Kuuga.
- Toei Producer, Takadera Shigenori, persuaded him that he's just a novice in the entertainment industry; he should be patient and finish Kuuga first if he really wants to be famous. Odagiri reluctantly changed his mind and stayed on until Kuuga finally concluded.
