Its name means "scary", it's a regional corruption of "osoroshii".
"They appear as hairy, hunched, four-legged beasts with fierce claws and tusks. They can have blue or orange skin." They like being in high places, like the torii archways (which is mentioned in its Ninninger profile as well as happens in the show) since the Torii are gateways between "the physical world and the realm of the gods".[1]

Kinji's postcard

They make a joke on Takaharu's catchphrases by literally lighting him on fire.
The line "Like ninjas drawn to the flame" is based on the idiom "Like a moth drawn to the flame". The Japanese wording for it is "Like a summer bug that flies into the flame."
According to lore, Otoroshi are found in high places. So in this episode, Otoroshi is seen on top of a statue, on a Torii, and on a building.
- Otoroshi actually calls the Ninningers "otoroshi", because it's another way of saying the word "scary".
Kinji uses the Igasaki's style of speaking, where he adds "perhaps" at the end of a sentence.
