To Come Back From a Broken Heart, Summon a Full Blast Red Delusion

再起する痛魂が喚ぶ赤き妄想のフルブラスト

Air date: April 13, 2012

Important things that happened

  • The AkibaRangers realize that their previous fight was nothing but a delusion, as in the real world, they were shadow boxing while the police stormed into the maid cafe and apprehended the real culprits.
  • Nobuo met Sainei Ryuji, who played Akaza Banban/DekaRed in Tokusou Sentai DekaRanger.
  • While moping over his delusion of being a Sentai hero, Nobuo encounters DekaRed, who dropkicks him and motivates him to return to Secret Base. In reality, DekaRed is a suit actor hired by Hakase for an undisclosed sum.
  • Machine Itassha/Itassha Robo debuts.
  • During the final battle, AkibaRed summons the "real" DekaRed, who grants AkibaRed the DekaRangers' Outrageous Power in the form of the Deka Wappa.

Monster of the Week

Shibuya Kouzurina Higenaga Aburamushi 渋谷コウゾリナヒゲナガアブラムシ
Voiced by Hamada Kenji 浜田賢二

Scientific name is Uroleucon picridis (Fabricius). Since he's also an Aburamushi, he's basically the exact same monster as last week. The joke being that they claim "they're totally different" and that "there's one point that's different". The difference is later revealed to the viewers in episode 13, where it is pointed out that this latter monster has gold teeth.

Super Sentai References

  • DekaRed and his live action counterpart appear.
  • DekaRed calls Nobuo his partner, a title usually reserved for Houji.
  • The first Outrageous Power, DekaRed turns into the Deka Wappa (giant handcuffs).
  • Kozukozu cosplays as Sakura from Ninja Sentai Kakuranger at the cafe.

Trivia

  • Broken heart uses the kanji for "pain" in it: 痛魂. This follows the pattern of the word pain being in every episode title for AkibaRangers.
  • The title has the words "Full Blast", which is a reference to Tokusou Sentai Dekaranger the Movie: Full Blast Action. It also refers to playing Machine Itassha's radio at full blast to transform it into Itassha Robo.
