Kamen Rider Kabuto (Character)

The titular character of the show Kamen Rider Kabuto.

Tendou Souji - Played by Mizushima Hiro

Kabuto was the first system in the Masked Rider project that was started 35 years before the start of the series. The user catches the Kabuto Zecter and transforms by setting it on their Rider Belt.

It has two base forms. The heavier, more armored Masked form and the faster, more destructive Rider form.

Kamen Rider Kabuto Masked Form

Kabuto's Masked Form is mostly silverish gray with some red colors. The blue eye piece can be seen underneath. The base suit underneath is black.

When first transforming, this is the form that most Riders in this series start off with. This form is bulky, but heavily armored.

An additional way to go into this form is to use the Put On (プットオン) ability while in Rider form.

Kamen Rider Kabuto Rider Form

When a Rider uses Cast Off (キャストオフ) in Masked Form, the armor pieces fly off. The pieces flying off can be used to surprise and hurt enemies. After the pieces are off, Kabuto's horn will rise and fit on top of the blue eye piece.

Kabuto's armor pieces are mostly red on top of a black base suit. With the horn up, his blue eye section looks bisected (while it appears to be one circle in Masked Form).

The main advantage of the Rider Form is to use the Clock Up (クロックアップ) feature. This ability lets Kabuto temporarily move at extreme speeds to match Worm and enemy Riders.

Red Shoes System

A fail safe that is built into the Kabuto system. Just as the red shoes made the girl in the fable dance against her will, the Kabuto red shoes system would make the user kill all the Worms until there are none left.

Spoiler warning: Significant plot details follow.

This becomes a problem for Tendou, since he doesn't want the system activating and forcing him to kill his sister, who is a Worm.
