- Mai means "dance" in Japanese. Her family names is Yamato which is the old name for Japan. In the Toei making-of section page, it says her name is meant to represent "the classical Japanese woman" since she practices traditional Japanese dance.
- There's actual footage from the episode of Mai walking to some workers during the sponsor section instead of stock footage.
