Toei English Mistakes: Difference between revisions

As great as the creations by Toei are, they're only human. Sometimes they make mistakes. While material from official sources should always be considered, they should never be regarded as sacrosanct.

Note, this isn't meant to be a harsh criticism of Japanese people for not being native English speakers. It's just supposed to be an interesting list of stuff.

Please restrict the list to clear-cut errors. Don't list things that may potentially be correct.

Kamen Rider Blade

Red Rhombus - On Garren's profile page, his bike is spelled Red Rambass.

Kamen Rider Kabuto

Worm - For a few weeks, the official webpage spelled it as Warm.

Lord of the Speed - In the credits it got credited as "Load of the Speed".

Kamen Rider Kiva

For the first couple of weeks, the official website referred to the Fangire as "Fangaia" and "Vankire"

Kamen Rider Decade

Stuff on Decade's belt effect is spelled wrong.

Kamen Rider OOO

Ankh - For a while, the official page spelled it as "Unkh", completely missing the reference to the symbol of life.

Rabbit Hutch - Spelling on the base is "Rabbit Hatch". In Japanese hatch/hutch are exactly the same pronunciation. Rabbits, however, live in hutches. Nor is their base in a hatch. They correct this in the Astro Switch Secret Report DVD[1].

Denji Sentai MegaRanger

Bon Dancing, the second ending song - Bomb Dancing. This mistake is quite glaring since it's completely out of context. The ending is all about the Bon Festival. It has nothing to do with bombs, plus bomb is usually written BOMU, not BON. Weird!

Hikounin Sentai AkibaRanger

Kozukozu - Kozkoz in the picture file. The spelling in the image is correct though. A lot of the webpage background stuff is simplified or incorrect, the only reason this is mentioned is because of how prolific this particular mistake has become among the English community.

Tokumei Sentai Go-Busters

Metaroid - Metaloid on a screen in episode 21. The base word isn't "metal", it comes from "meta" and "android".
