Trivia
- This episode reveals Shouichi's past as well as explains all the mystery of the series. Truly 42 is the answer to life.
- Because of this, all the members of the Akatsuki-gou are seen together in the same episode.
- The flashback in this episode reveals the first time Shouichi turns into Agito.
- On the Akatsuki-gou, Kino is reading a book with a Russian title: Modern Medicine - The Human Body.
- Later on, Shouichi asks Kino to take a look at his letter, assuming he knows many languages because he's a doctor. Perhaps Shouichi saw him reading the book with the foreign title.
- At no time in the flashback does the viewer see Shouichi say his name to the other passengers. Since it would be Sawaki Tetsuya at the time.
