- Gekisouki (激走鬼) is named after CarRanger's title name, "Gekisou" (激走).
- Dragoku is a combination of "dragon" and "goku". Son Goku is the Japanese name for the Monkey King from the Chinese story "Journey to the West".
- Ryuuko (竜虎) means "hero" or "dragon and tiger, two mighty rivals".
- Ichiryuu means "first class" but the ryuu was replaced with the kanji for "dragon", turning it into "first dragon".
