Gills attacks the Mysterious Young Man out of fear, but the young man simply disappears and he leaves his strange symbol on the ground.
Shouichi and Mana go home from the grocery shopping; they encounter a woman named Miura Tomoko who claims she had met Shouichi before. Tomoko schedules Shouichi a meeting together next day at Higashi Park to discuss about his past that she probably knows. That night, Tomoko also calls someone else and reports to this person about encountering Shouichi. She is told to proceed with caution if she tries to learn about Shouichi.
Shouichi is supposed to meet Tomoko, however, he returns home with the gardening equipment he needs. He says he was waiting for nearly an hour, but Tomoko never appeared. Tomoko is found dead by wire strangulation in the park. Hikawa and Kouno trace their investigation to Shouichi when they find his name on Tomoko's schedule in her personal belongings. Shouichi senses the Mollipes Octipes Unknown appearing and he rushes to the location, but he is arrested for resisting.

Tomoko owns a poster of 37° 2 le matin in her apartment, a 1986 French movie directed by Jean-Jacques Beineix. The English title of the movie is translated as Betty Blue.
On G Trailer, both Omuro and Houjou briefly talk about Ozawa's profile. Ozawa was born in 1977 in New York. She has an I.Q. of over 180. She entered the Massachusetts Institute of Technology at age 12, and was the top graduate in her doctoral course at age 15. She graduated from Jouhoku University in Japan and joined the police force to design the G3 System.
