Haruto tries to use a Finale, but the Wizardriver gives an Error message. He continues fighting with his weapon, but suddenly detransforms. Cat Sidhe gets the upper hand on Haruto, but decides to run away instead of finishing him off.
Takagi admits that he's trying to get attacked so he won't have to appear in the contest, since he believes he will lose if he goes.
Medusa, Phoenix, and Cat meet under a train overpass. Medusa says she had eliminated Koyomi, but Cat reveals that Koyomi was still around in battle. Medusa realizes that Wizard has the ability to confer magical energy to Koyomi.
Rinko realizes Koyomi's true nature, so Wajima explains that Koyomi is a Gate who's the leftover remnant of a Phantom that was born. The Phantom took her memories, hopes, and life, so she receives magical energy to temporarily prolong her life from Haruto.
Haruto defeats the Phantom in front of the contest hall. Takagi loses, so he decides to study abroad.
Koyomi and Haruto leave to eat doughnuts. Rinko and Shunpei ask if they can join, to which Koyomi replies with a smile that they can do what they want.

Ketto Shii. Written Cait Sith on the TV Asahi page, guess someone likes the Final Fantasy 7 spelling.
Lives in a junkyard, is lazy, talks in an ignorant fashion, and is constantly grumbling. While this would be fine for a cat monster, the choice to have his human form being a black guy with no name seems questionable.

Throughout the episode, the stone that Wajima is polishing becomes more refined as it goes.
Phoenix hands Cat Sidhe a bunch of rocks that turn out to be Ghuls when thrown to the ground.
Given what is known about Koyomi, it's probable that blood doesn't flow in her, thus explaining why her body is cold. She probably also can't eat doughnuts, which is why she told Shunpei in the last episode that she didn't need any doughnuts as opposed to she didn't want any doughnuts. Like Medusa says, she's probably really is just like a doll given life. The magical energy allows her to move and think, but otherwise she has the body of a corpse.
