The episode begins with Zamaza Seijin Shake breaking out of prison. The DekaRangers discover that Shake use to have a girlfriend named Maira, who is hiding on Earth. Ban and Umeko then pretends to be a young couple to spy on Maira from a vacant apartment room across from Maira's apartment. However, when Ban sees Maira, he becomes drawn to her beauty. Later, when Ban goes to buy food, he sees a group of men trying to sexually harass Maira in an alleyway. Even though he understands that the most important rule in staking out is to not come in contact with the person you're spying, Ban still decides to meet Maira to protect her from the thugs. When Maira questions Ban how he knew her name, Ban lies by telling her that he's a plumber that remembers the faces of all his customers. Because of this, Maira requests that Ban goes to her apartment to fix her plumbing. When Ban poorly attempts to fix her plumbing, Maira told him that she is a Zamaza Seijin because she feels that she does not want to keep secrets from Ban, because lying is the biggest sin for a Zamaza Seijin and that she hates lies. Ban also tells her that he hates lies and promises her that he will protect her. Maira then gives Ban the "Ring of Truth", which is worn on the wrist; the duo wearing it will be forever connected by trust, and if the two ever lie to each other, then the ring's function will create pain. When Umeko finds out, she threatens to expose Ban's actions if he does not buy her cream puffs, to which Ban unwillingly agrees to.
Meanwhile, Houji, Sen, and Jasmine decides to lurk near a cave where they feel that Shake will appear to. When Shake appears, the three DekaRangers fight him, but he escapes. Back at the apartment, Umeko tells Ban that she's taking a bath; she also warns Ban not to go see Maira because she's already covering him from yesterday. However, when there's a thief that broke into Maira's room, Ban immediately goes to the scene. Ban manages to obtain back the materials that the robber stole, but he was unsuccessful in capturing the thief himself. When the other DekaRangers arrive to the scene, they discover that Ban came in contact with the girl. When Ban realizes that Maira is entering, he hides under her bed. Shake then appears, asking Maira for the goods that he gave to her. Ban immediately arrives to Maira's rescue. However, when Maira questions about Ban's sudden appearance, Ban lies that he was apparently just working next doors, making his ring around his wrist inflict pain on him. Even though Maira does not realize that Ban was lying at the time, she eventually realizes when Ban was forced to transform into DekaRed to save Maira from a falling debris. When the DekaRangers form the DekaRanger Robo to combat Shake's Kaijuuki, Shake manages to escape with a clone of his robot. After the battle, Ban goes to Maira, but Maira concludes that Ban lied to her. When Ban tries to explain himself, Maira slaps him before storming off in anger.
