Trivia
- There's a commercial for Petanko Choco which would mean "flat chocolate". But it's also a euphemism for "flat-chested girl". The girl in the CM is based on Nakagawa Shoko who also starred in a chocolate commercial before.
- Luna decides the fourth Akiba member should be Nagakawa Chouko, a reference to famous nerd queen Nakagawa Shoko. Nakagawa Shoko is also a famous sentai otaku, and has applied to be a pink ranger several times. Chouko's nickname Chokotan is a reference to Shoko's nickname Shokotan.
- Shokotan has a page devoted to her personal phrases, which is called Shokotango. Giga, Kawayusu, Bakkarukoon and Rairaio are all words Shokotan uses
- Likes tapeworms, dislikes okra.
- Chokotan's appearance in delusion world is a cross between Big One and Poitrine.
- Chokotan is replaced with an Oneedaa. She shows up on a TV show Totsugeki♡Hirugohan (Attack♡Lunch) It's a parody of a Japanese corner called Totsugeki! Tonari no Bangohan (Attack! The Neighbor's dinner) (突撃!
- The episode title appears to be referencing this meme from Macross Frontier. Nyan-nyan is a reference to a Chinese restaurant, and the scene is about a cute girl dance.
- Yuru Chara is a reference to Yurui Mascot Characters which are in charge of the dress-up mascot characters used for promotions and stuff.
- Both Nobuo and Tsuu talk about a friend of a friend, implying that Tsuu might have made the Zubaan Aoi that Nobuo has.
- Yuru Sanae is a reference to a Touhou character born from 2chan Yuru Sanae (許早苗).
- The fliers that Yuru Chara Jigen distribute: "If you stop being picky, you'll get a galaxy watch."
- This is a reference to the infamous UltraSeven's 12th episode. An alien is trying to collect blood from human children, so he wrote in the newspaper "If you can draw a rocket, you'll get a space watch." Due to the grisly nature of the storyline, the episode has never been released on tape or DVD in Japan.
- The metallic suit Hakase wears features a Gundam-like helmet and Sailor Moon's henshin item, Cosmic Heart Compact, on the belt.
Nobuo's recommendation
"If I had to pick an Abaranger episode, I'd recommend Urasawa-san's episode 10 about mushroom haircuts!"
In that episode of Abaranger, the monster of the week was controlling people with mushroom-shaped wigs.
Urasawa Yoshio was the writer for that episode.
AkibaBlue's response
"Abaranger? Then I recommend the surprising episode with Hama-chan from the anime! AkibaBlue!"
Abaranger did a crossover with a fishing anime, Tsuri Baka Nisshi, where the anime character Hama-chan appeared on Abaranger (episode 26), and Abared appears on the anime.
And Yellow
