- When Hanamori is doing spy work from his car, he has a bun and milk, which is a common police stakeout trope in Japan.
- At the end of the episode, there's a bonus ad from the cast about giving away the manga which the show is based on.
- Continuing a plot point from earlier, Chieko's mother is in Seoul for the Olympics since she's following the figure skater Hanyu Yuzuru. This coincides with the 2018 winter Olympics that are happening in real life concurrently.
- Jiji-sama tries to persude Mayaya by saying the money they make could buy all the volumes of Souten Kouro (Beyond the Heavens), a manga series about the Romance of the Three Kingdoms saga.
