Kousokuki (高速鬼) and Kousokuking (高速鬼ング) are named after TurboRanger's title name, "Kousoku" (高速).
The location takes place at the same school as TurboRanger, Musashino Academy High School. The school uniforms are the same.
The scene with the eye and the monster of the week in it is an homage to TurboRanger's opening, which has an image of an eye with the TurboRangers in it.
Jirou's friends are named after the characters from Journey to the West/Saiyuki. Sanzou is the priest and his companions are Hakkai/Piggy and Sagao/Sandy. Jirou's Dragoku is named after Son Goku/The Monkey King. Just as how Tarou is the main character of the Momotarou story, Jirou is the main character of this Journey to the West spin-off. Hakkai's character even looks like a pig.
