The thugs are played by Matsumoto Hiroyuki who played Gamel in OOO and Nephrite in PGSM as well as guesting on several toku shows. Another of the thugs is suit actor Sakae Danki who's played several Malgams on this series.
Geryon gives Atropos the same book that Rinne had as a child, Grand Path to Becoming an Alchemist. In episode 2, Rinne recalled the end of the story. By contrast, we hear the start of the story for the first time.
Tacchan is the nasty recurring character in the series. In episode 14 he played a jerk editor, and in 23 he was a jerk boyfriend.
