Trivia[edit]

  • Like the other DekaRangers, Neo DekaRed and Yellow have names that are based on tea names and sci-fi/mystery writers.
    • Mugi Grafton is based on Mugi-cha (barley tea) and the mystery writer Sue Grafton.
    • Asamu Asimov is based on Assam tea (the proper Japanese spelling should be Assamu though) and the sci-fi writer Isaac Asimov. It's also a reference to the actor's role as Asumu on the show Kamen Rider Hibiki.
  • In the guidebook, Jasmine's name has been changed to Hiwatari Marika (Her real name used to be Reimon Marika).
    • Her husband calls her Maririn as a nickname.
  • When confronted by Sen, Hoji responds to the rumors by saying a rumor only lasts 75 days. It's another way of saying "rumors change along with the season".
  • Kight is apparently part of the Space Mafia Kyurlian Family.
  • Doggie is being treated at Planet Revaful, an amalgamation between the words "revive" and the suffix "ful".
  • Asumu says there's a quote about soldiers fading away. Perhaps this is a reference to Douglas MacArthur's "Old soldiers never die they just fade away."

References to the original series[edit]

  • The alien that is attacked at the beginning is Michael Micson, the singer from the DekaRanger ending sequence. He's voiced by Sasaki Isao who sings the ending theme for the TV series.
    • Micson says "Saraba chikyuu yo", which is a nod to Sasaki Isao's song, Uchuu Senkan Yamato. The phrase is the first line of the song.
  • When Neo DekaYellow appears, she says "mengo" which is an old trendy way of saying "sorry". This is a nod to Jasmine's quirky way of speaking in the original series.
  • Ban's first lines upon his return are two Yojijukugo.
    • 一陽来復 Ichiyou Raifuku - A return to fortune
    • 帰家穏座 Kika Onza - Home sweet home
    • 不撓不屈 Futou Fukutsu - Indomitable
    • 大願成就 Taigan Jouju - Realization of a great ambition
  • The ship the DekaRangers use to escort Carrie is very similar to the one they used when they went to train for SWAT. (Both ships crash).
  • Umeko tries to cheer Carrie up with a song. She starts by singing the first line to the song she sings in Episode 01.
  • The narrator covers the famous "Jasmine is an ESPer" and "This is Sen's thinking pose" lines.
  • For the first time, the Judgement Time court system is explained. Planet Gowashichoru is under the Sion Morse phenomenon, which speeds up time by a factor of 2 million. The narrator explains that 10 seconds of Judgement Time equates to 8 months. And if 10 seconds is converted using the conversion above, it actually equates to about 7.72 months.
