Monster Attacking Crew
Each original team member has a number at the back of their uniform and on their right shoulder. Guest characters and new members have no numbers.
- Ootori Gen [7] / Ultraman Leo - Manatsu Ryuu → おおとり ゲン/ウルトラマンレオ（声） - 真夏 竜
- Ultraman Leo, who comes from Nebula L77. His hometown was destroyed by Magma-seijin, and thus he made Earth his second home. After being convinced by Moroboshi Dan / UltraSeven, he swears to defend Earth, to not let it suffer a similar fate. He has a younger brother Astra who he first thought was dead, but later appears to be well and alive, often aiding Leo when he was in trouble.
- Gen is also a gym teacher who teaches children.
- Moroboshi Dan [1] / UltraSeven - Moritsugu Kohji → モロボシ・ダン/ウルトラセブン - 森次 晃嗣
- The captain of MAC, who is also secretly UltraSeven. In the first episode, he was severely injured by Magma-seijin and his two sidekicks, when his leg was twisted and broken by them, and as a result has to use a walking stick throughout the series, and was no longer able to transform into UltraSeven. Even in human form, he is able to use the Ultra Psychokinesis ability, which puts foes in a daze, to help Leo when needed.
- Though he may seem overly strict and demanding to Gen, he is actually very concerned for him, shown in one episode when Gen was defeated and missing. He gives tips to Gen on how to defeat certain monsters, and also provides tough training for him, using his vast knowledge and experience as UltraSeven.
- In one episode, Ultraman Jack appears and brings his Ultra Eye back to Nebula M78 to be repaired.
- When MAC was destroyed in Episode 40, Dan is seen telling Gen to live on as Ultraman Leo before vanishing in the flames, though he is assumed to have escaped somehow.

- One of the original members of the MAC team.
- Aoshima Ichirou [5] - Yanagisane Yuuichi → 青島 一郎 - 柳沢 優一
- One of the original members of the MAC team.
- Akashi Kiyohiko [6] - Ooshima Kenji → 赤石 清彦 - 大島 健二
- One of the original members of the MAC team.
- Shirakawa Junko [8] - Mita Mieko → 白川 純子 - 三田 美枝子
- One of the original members of the MAC team. She was killed when the Silver Blume destroyed the MAC Asia HQ.
- Momoi Haruko [9] - Shintama Kyouko → 桃井 晴子 - 新玉 恭子
- One of the original members of the MAC team.
- Suzuki - Kashima Shinya → 鈴木 - 鹿島 信哉
- Appears in Episode 3 and sliced into two by Tsuruk-seijin later in the same episode.
- Satou Saburou - Azuma Ryuumei → 佐藤 三郎 - 東 隆明
- A member from Africa who appears in Episode 12. He then leaves for the Himalayas for a "Yeti hunt".
- Hirayama Atsushi - Hirasawa Nobuo → 平山 あつし - 平沢 信夫
- Appears from Episode 9 to 18.
- Ootsuki Miyako - Oohara Midori → 大槻 美也子 - 大原 みどり
- Appears in Episode 23 and 25.
- Satou Daisuke - Tezeka Shigeo → 佐藤 大介 - 手塚 しげお
- Second generation permanent member. Killed by the Silver Blume in Episode 40.
- Shirato Jun - Matsuzaka Masaharu → 白土 純 - 松坂 雅治
- Second generation permanent member. Killed by the Silver Blume in Episode 40.
- Kajita Ippei - Asakura Takashi → 梶田 一平 - 朝倉 隆
- Second generation permanent member. Killed by the Silver Blume in Episode 40.
- Matsuki Haruko - Ai Tomoko → 松木 晴子 - 藍 とも子
- Second generation permanent member. Killed by the Silver Blume in Episode 40 when the team was celebrating her birthday together in the operation room.
- Chief Takakura - Kanda Takashi → 高倉長官 - 神田 隆
- A stoic man who is the chief of the MAC team. He appears from time to time to give orders. He has a daughter whom he loves dearly.
Ootori's Acquaintances
- Oomura Shouji - Fujiki Yuu → 大村 正司 - 藤木 悠
- A colleague and friend of Gen in the gym.
- Yamaguchi Momoko - Okano Kaori → 山口 百子 - 丘野 かおり
- A colleague and close friend of Gen in the gym. She later adopts Tooru and Kaoru after their father was killed. Killed in Episode 40 together with Kaoru and Takeshi when the Silver Blume collapsed a shopping mall they were in.
- Umeda Tooru - Arai Tsunehiro → 梅田 トオル - 新井 つねひろ
- Elder brother of Kaoru. A young boy who is Gen's student in the gym. His mother died prior to the series' events, and his father was killed early in the series and he and Kaoru were both adopted by Momoko.
- Umeda Kaoru - Matsumoto Yoshiko → 梅田 カオル - 富永 美子
- Younger sister of Tooru. She is also a student of Gen. She is often immature and makes childish decisions. Her mother died prior to the series' events, and her father was killed early in the series and she and Tooru were both adopted by Momoko. Killed in Episode 40 together with Momoko and Takeshi when the Silver Blume collapsed a shopping mall they were in.
- Nomura Takeshi - Itou Yukio → 野村 猛 - 伊藤 幸雄
- A young man who is a colleague and close friend of Gen, also a trainer for children in the gym. He was killed in Episode 40 together with Momoko and Kaoru when the Silver Blume collapsed a shopping mall they were in.
Others
- Miyama Sakiko - Harukawa Masumi → 美山 咲子 - 春川 ますみ
- A kind nurse who offered to take in Gen and Tooru to live with her family when the Silver Blume killed Momoko, Kaoru and Takeshi. She appears to be middle-aged.
- Miyama Izumi - Nara Fujiko → 美山 いずみ - 奈良 富士子
- The elder daughter of Miyama Sakiko. She appears to be in her 20s.
- Miyama Ayumi - Tsugita Kaoru → 美山 あゆみ - 杉田 かおる
- A young girl of around Tooru's age who is the younger sister of Izumi, and daughter of Sakiko.
- Commander Black - Oobayashi Takeshi → ブラック指令 - 大林 丈史
- The final villain in the series. He hails from the Black Star, and summons many monsters from his planet to attack Earth. He always holds a crystal ball in his hand, lifted beside his head. When he lost his crystal ball in the final episode after being mobbed by Tooru and his friends, he evaporates into a puddle of bubbles.
