Ep 29 >

The Kamen Rider Ryuki summer movie. The second Heisei Rider movie.

Double featured with Ninpuu Sentai Hurricaneger Shushu to The Movie.

Catchphrases:

  • You can't imagine such a grand battle.
(想像を超える壮大な戦闘〈バトル〉。)
  • Ryuki's shocking conclusion. The final episode appears in the theaters first.
(龍騎、衝撃の結末。最終回、先行映画化。)

Story[edit]

  • Kanzaki instates a three day time limit for the Rider Battles to finish. At the same time, the Mirror Monsters start appearing in packs.
  • Yui remembers she drew pictures of Monsters in front of the mirror so that they would protect her.
  • Apparently, Shinji and Yui played together once as kids, agreeing to meet again the next day. Since it was raining, Shinji didn't go, so Yui felt very forlorn. That's when her Mirror World version invites her into the mirror. However, she spends too much time in Mirror World and can't return to the real world.
  • Yui's Mirror World version gives her life to Yui, so that Yui can return to the real world without dying. In exchange, the Mirror World version takes the pictures of Monsters. However, the life runs out when Yui turns into 20 years old.
  • Yui dies after blowing the birthday cake.
  • Ren finally befriends Shinji. Both transform into Survive form and head off to fight a swarm of Mirror Monsters.

Trivia[edit]

  • In the church, Kanzaki throws everyone their Card Decks except Shinji, who is left to pick it up on his own.
  • Shinji says Miho has a lot of faces, but he's the one that literally has another face in terms of having a Mirror World version.
  • When Miho dies, there's a crow by her Card Deck and a black feather. The people passing are all wearing black.
  • This is the first and only time when Riders fight in the Real World as seen when Ren fights Ryuga as well as the final battle between Shinji and Ryuga.
  • Suga Takamasa portrays both Ryuki and Ryuga in this movie since Ryuga is the Mirror World verison of Shinji.
  • Movie revealed things like Ryuki Survive, the Mirror World Yui substory, and Mirror Monster Sheerghost before they appeared in the TV series.
  • The movie foreshadows of how Yui is relevant to the Rider Battles, Mirror Monsters, and Mirror World. This also includes Kanzaki Shirou's intentions to save Yui through winning the Rider Battle.
  • The premise of the movie was to tell the story of the last three days of the story before it happened. In terms of the TV series, this movie would take place after episode 47.
  • Kamen Rider Femme is the first female Kamen Rider.
  • This was the first movie of this series to be filmed with the Panasonic HD video camera VARICAM.

Canon[edit]

Since this involves the plot of 13 Riders and the TV series, please refer to the TV series last episode for a discussion of whether this is canon or not.
