Oshikawa Yoshifumi has a cameo as a building janitor

Yui's tea shop is called Tea Atori (花鶏) which is Japanese for "brambling", a type of bird. There's a picture of the bird on the sign.
In the bill, there's a charge of 12,800 yen for two aluminum sash windows and a 8000 yen bill for psychological trauma.
Shinji finds Kanzaki Shirou's name as Takami Shirou on the missing list.
Knight gives Shinji the name Ryuki.
The translation for the episode title is similar to the The Empire Strikes Back from the Star Wars movies.
